DIN 3869 ED Sealing Rings

ED Sealing Rings, also known as Coupling Seals or Profile Sealing Rings, are specially designed elastomeric seals for hydraulic fittings and threaded connections. Their simple profile allows for quick and easy installation while providing reliable static sealing performance.
Compared with conventional O-Rings, the profiled ED design provides improved positioning stability and helps prevent twisting or excessive deformation in the sealing groove when properly installed, even under high-pressure conditions.
Typical Materials
Standard materials include:
- NBR – Excellent resistance to mineral oils and hydraulic fluids
- FKM / FPM – High temperature and excellent oil/fuel resistance
- EPDM – Suitable for water, hot water, steam, and selected chemicals
- HNBR – Improved heat, oil, mechanical and aging resistance
- FFKM – Excellent chemical and high-temperature resistance for demanding applications
Material selection should be based on the operating medium, temperature, pressure, and environmental conditions.
